Understand what is already in place.

Start with the equipment, account access and connection problems you are seeing. Discuss what may be useful to retain and what needs to change.

Router

Connects the home network to internet service and controls how traffic passes between networks.

Switches

Provide wired connections for equipment and devices around the home.

Access points

Connect wireless devices to the network in the areas they serve.

Configuration that fits your household.

Guest access, compatible smart-device connections and network separation can be considered where they fit the equipment and project. The proposal defines the settings, checks and handover included.

Know how the system connects.

Discuss the documentation, administrator account handover and ownership before installation. Keep credentials out of public inquiry forms; account details are handled during the agreed work.

Installation workmanship and equipment warranties.

We do not offer ongoing support. Our installation work is covered by a workmanship warranty, including work involving homeowner-supplied equipment. We also assist with manufacturer warranty claims for equipment supplied and installed by EliteNet. Homeowner-supplied equipment itself and its manufacturer warranty claims are excluded from that equipment warranty assistance. Your homeowner agreement sets out the applicable terms.

Questions before you get started

Can existing equipment stay?

Compatibility, condition and the connections you need help determine what can be reused. A review comes before a recommendation.

Who owns administrator accounts?

Account ownership and access should be agreed during the project and explained at handover. Ask how the proposed system handles administration.

Is remote access required?

Remote access is not assumed. Discuss whether it is needed, who can use it and the appropriate access controls before enabling it.

Does this include continuous monitoring?

No. We do not offer ongoing support. Installation workmanship and eligible equipment warranty assistance follow the terms in your homeowner agreement.

Make sense of the equipment behind your home.

Share your current setup and what you want to improve. You do not need to know which technical solution to choose.
